Hi,

Not to be to graphic, but I am trying to figure out what is going on with me as my IC seems to adding symptoms on a regular basis. I have now been having burning when I have a bowel movement, and this burning can last from a couple hours afterward to sometimes all day, it will be in the anal/perineal area and sometimes down to the lower end of the vulva. I am worried about the possibility of pudendal nerve issues, but am wondering if this is also something that happens with IBS? I do have constipation, and have had this happen periodically even prior to the IC diagnosis. Is this something typical to IBS? I do have gas issues as well, but no abdominal cramping or bloating. Any advice or insight would be welcome.

Thanks,
Addy

The only things I can think of are to be sure you are getting adequate fiber --- have you talked with your doctor about this? If not, I think it would be a good idea.

Warm hugs,
Donna

The burning afterwards doesn't sound like IBS to me, at least I don't have those type of symptoms with my IBS and I have constipation also. It sounds more like PFD since it happens afterwards and involves those muscles. Have you been evaluated for PFD too? Alot of ICers have it.
Does it only happen when you've pushed alot becuz of the constipation or does it happen every time?
