That's getting closer... :) I don't get up to Redding much but we could chat sometime, maybe start finding other people around us.

Absolutely! I am newly diagnosed and if you have seen any of my posts I'm a little grumpy about the diet. But I'm getting there.

I totally hear you! I don't particularly follow the diet except for the no caffeine, very little acid, and no stimulants. I did go 9 months (AN ETERNITY!!!) without chocolate and ate white chocolate instead but a couple months back decided to wade back into the chocolate pool and don't seem to be having any problems with it.
I already don't eat tomatoes and am gluten-free so there are two things that some people have tried to eliminate. I do have some vinegar and sometimes will have a carbonated beverage. Every once in a blue moon I will have caffeinated coffee, oddly when I'm on a trip or something I seem to tolerate it more than I would at home. I can drink decaf green tea and decaf low-acid coffee (Puroast) if I want something hot, or I go for chamomile/mint or chamomile/lavender which are both great, even in the morning, with some milk and stevia or honey.
What are the biggest challenges for you in the diet? I am studying to be a dietitian so I would be interested in knowing this. I also know everyone is different when it comes to the diet and studies have backed this up, so what works for one person may not work for the next.
My current treatments that seem to be working somewhat are acupuncture (tibial nerve stimulation) and I had a hysterectomy this summer so my hormones are more under control now (they seemed to be stimulating flares before).
That's about it for now. What have you found that works or doesn't work?

I haven't found much that works yet. I do know I ate something yesterday that didn't agree with me and I think it was the chocolate coconut water I tried. I have a huge sweet tooth and I couldn't resist. Onions are hard for me to avoid using because I cook an awful lot. So imam just using them sparingly. I want coffee so bad sometimes too. But I am beginning to get used to the idea without it. I need to get some supplements that my nurse practioner recommended. It's really hard for me to know sometimes if the pain I feel is ic or the PCOS I have as well as my whole pelvic region just aches. Anyway, that's the long and short of it. I am starting a slew of different meds soon so we will see how that goes.
Did you decide to become a dietician because of all the history you have with food sensitivity?
Take care~ heather
