Hi all!
I have a question about some meds, and didn't really know where to post it. Since it concerns exercising, I thought this would be the best place.
I try to walk at least 2 miles daily to prevent weight gain from the amitryptiline. I started experiencing hip pain, and about 3 weeks ago, my doctor put me on Celebrex. I started flaring about a week after I began taking it (just about the same time my joints started feeling better..wouldn't you just know it?!!).
My question is....Has anyone connected a flare to Celebrex? I know both Celebrex and Vioxx are anti-inflammatory, but which seems to be more IC friendly?

Thanks,
Dee

Celebrex drove my bladder nuts. There's no way I could take it. Vioxx is fine & I've been on it for years. Hope my experience is helpful.

I have been on Vioxx for 3 months with no problems.

I used to take Vioxx for all kinds of different pain but that was before the bladder problems. It never seemed to give me any side effects. I'm allergic to celebrix.

I went from vioxx to celebrex (have IC and lupus) and couldn't tell the difference. Celebrex works a bit better, maybe, but it didn't affect my bladder at all. Funny, isn't it? You can never tell until you try it...but then you have a heck of a time getting back on track.

OMGosh this is an old post. Started Celebrex today 200mg and I took it not even knowing that my bladder might not like it! UGH! Is Vioxx the same kind of drug?

^^yes, I had forgotten about this thread, lol. I think Vioxx was taken off the market, due to some major side effects, so it's not available anymore. I do not take celebrex anymore; really played havoc on my bladder.

Have a happy New Year!
