infection ?

I am going to call my uro's office in the morning but what is it that can cause infection after treatment is it the catheter or the solution itself? I am in terrible pain still from friday.. I dont understand I thought these treatments were to help me? I also thought the burning and throbbing would go away and it has not.:confused: Although who knows my uro told me there was no pain involved what so ever..... Boy was he wrong....

Any time we are catheterized there is an increased chance for infection. It could also be that you still have some irritation from the instillation. When I first started DMSO it caused pain for several days for me. It helped enough to make it worth it and I'm glad now that I stuck it out through the entire eight weekly treatments. Now I'm on a once-a-month schedule and only have discomfort for part of DMSO day.

They always give me 2 antibiotic pills when I leave after an instill.

I had a DMSO on Thursday and I am still hurting this morning. I have heard that the first couple of times can be very painful, I don't know, I have another one this Thursday and I am so not looking forward to it. I hope you start feeling better soon!
