Neurontin

Has anyone tried neurontin? I tried all three of the tricyclic anti-depressants and they were awful. I could not tolerate any of them what so ever!

I have a couple of times, once many years ago for my back; just recently in the last handful of months for my IC. It helps me sleep, the few times that I have woke up at night to go to the bathroom, I fall back asleep right away.
I did have trouble with sleepiness for awhile, but that is gone. I take 1800 mg at night about an hour before bed.

I tried elavil, which caused me severe drowsiness that did not abate even after 4-5 months. I have had better tolerance for nortriptyline. I also take neurontin currently and for the first couple weeks, I was drowsy and had dizzy spells and hot flashes. Thankfully, that is a distant memory. Neurontin and nortriptyline, while I'm not sure has helped with pain so much, have both helped me sleep a bit better at night.

I am on Neurontin and Atarax for my IC. I also follow a strict diet! Between all of those 3.. I am feeling pretty well! I have been doing all of them for a month now. I would try it though to see how it works. I take both the Atarax and the Neurontin at night and I get a good nights sleep :)
