Not having a good day yesterday, I went next door to my Mom and Dads house for lunch. That was real nice, but then I was not feeling to good so I thought I would go home and take a nice long hot soak in the tub, it sometimes helps me feel better for a while. So here it comes the STUPID STUPID STUPID PART!!!! I can't believe I did this!!! Laides, I thought while I was waiting for my Bath tub to fill, witch is a hudge Garden tub and it holds up to 30 gallons so it takes a while. I thought I would just sit down here at the computer and look at my poll and see how it was going and check out a few threads ya know, talk a bit. Well it turned out to be about probably well over a 1/2 hour or more. I got up and went into the front room and heard this sissssssssssss noise coming from my room and so I went into my room only to find my tub over flowing all over my bathroom,(I had totally forgot about even taking a bath). It looked so Aweful. My Bathroom has YES CARPET:( and water was everywhere, No one was home but me, luckly I have a bissel carpet cleaner and even though I was hurting I had to start cleaning:( I thought to myself how could this be happening today. Anyway we have a really thick pad under our carpet and so it held a lot of water, just soaked it up like crazy!!! I felt so so so so bad about it cause our house is Brand New 1 year old this month. And I have to go and do something like this. What a flake I am. Well we now have got it pretty much under control we have 2 Big Fans going in there now and My Husband says he thinks it will be Ok. I don't think we will need to rip it up. We shall have to wait and see time will tell I guess. What a night!!!

So sorry to hear about your accident , sing-to-you--
I know from experience that time can really slip away from you when you get on the computer. That's one reason I never use the computer when I'm cooking even though I think I have a little time before whatever is cooking is done because I've let stuff burn before--No real disaster, fortunately, just a little smoke and having to dispose of whatever burned or scorched. :(
Hopefully, your fans will get your carpeting & pad all dried out satisfactorily--
Hugs & blessings--:cat:

I am so sorry to hear about your bathroom hope the floor and carpet will be alright..... it happens. About 5 years ago we bought a brand new sectional sleeper sofa. We painted every room and did a major rehaul .We had fire sprinklers in the whole place. My husband accidentally fell off the ladder and the paint brush broke the sprinkler in half OMG about 30 gallons a minute come out and it made one heck of a mess. The sofa was only 4 days old the carpets were soaked the painted walls were a mess and all our boxed food was ruined. The kitchen and living room are close and it ruined both. We were not happy then but we laugh about it today.:D Hope your feeling better today and got some rest. Take care and have a good weekend.

Hi, do not feel stupid at all, I have done the same thing, and forgotten about something on the stove while I was on the computer, time goes so fast, and then the inevitable happens, it burns. Hope that the fans will do the job in the bathroom, I know it takes a while to dry out, had one flood in the master bathroom which is carpeted, but it finally did dry out, and alls well that ends well. Take care of yourself, and take it easy, hugs Iris. :flower:

I burned beef Stroganoff once while on the computer. I think I was listening to music and didn't hear the timer go off. Now I bring the timer upstair with me when I'm cooking. l

If your carpet is still pretty wet, it might be a good idea to call a professional carpet cleaner in --- they have extractors that really pull the water out.
Don't ask me how I learned that.

Our washing machine broke down. We called the repair man. He came out and had it fixed in no time. Great! So, I start a load and get on the computer. The next thing I hear , Mom yelling,"Joy, the kitchen id flooding!!!!!" I turn off the wash say a few choice words and grab the carpet cleaner....it sucked the water off that new kitchen flooring in no time flat. We just had new flooring put in 2 months ago.
Call the repair guy again,he fixes it, again. I get all my laundry done. Cool! Wrong again! Mom goes to do her laundry this morning and the thing filled half way stopped and that was that. Of course it is Saturday and no one will work on it until Monday.:headbang: :headbang: Like Mom says it's always something. Like say if it wasn't always something we would be bored!:toosh: that is what I think of that washer today!

If I listed all the dumb things I ever did we would be here all day. I lose my keys and remote every day. I am thinking of getting one of those necklace things to put them on.
Yeah, I caught a wok on fire once-made the mistake of heating the oil while chopping the veggies.... Now I chop first and stare at the wok the whole time I'm using it...
We all goof from time to time.

Unfortunately we all learn from our mistakes the hard way. As for me, I've learned an awful lot, because I make dumb mistakes all too often. Luckily, I can laugh at most of them long after they happen! :biglaugh:
Hope you are feeling better,
Lyn

Yep, we all do it & I do it constantly. Today I put the cereal in the fridge & the milk under the kitchen cabinet where all the cleaning supplies are. What was I thinking?

reading this should make us ALL feel better! So sorry about your carpet, but I'm sure it will be ok.Those things happen to all of us,it just seems worse when you feel bad and don't want to deal with it! A few years ago,my husband bought me one of those homespa foot baths, because my legs hurt sooo bad all the time,he thought it might help.He also bought some kind of foot soak.Well,he put the whole envelope of soak in the foot bath,I was sitting there, with my feet in it relaxing, open my eyes, and bubbles are everywhere! They covered the entire floor.I think we used every towel we had trying to clean up the mess!It was really funny,though.....kind of like a Lucy and Desi moment! Take care everyone.
I was sure you were going to tell us about all the food you shouldn't have eaten! LOL!

This morning as I was getting breakfast, I got the egg out of the frig and the milk, poured the cereal in the bowl and started to pour the milk on the cereal when it dawned on me the egg was on the talbe but I hadn't cooked it.:loco: :dizzy: and so far the rest of my day is going along those same lines. Could it be some of the meds we are on make us a little spacey. I know they do me!
Have a good day all.

just thought of something else. One morning I got up to go to work and was real tired and I brushed my teeth with shaving cream instead of toothpaste. And this was before I got IC!!

Just remembered another crazy thing I did. One morning I woke up to go to work and was still tired and I brushed my teeth with shaving cream instead of toothpaste. And this was before I got IC!!!

LOL... now I'm remembering dumb stuff I've done recently :) The other day, my husband and I ate dinner, and then went to Walgreen's because both of us had some prescription refills ready to be picked up. We went to the pharmacy window, got our meds, and paid for them. Then we started leaving.
Well, somehow, I TOTALLY spaced, and went and stood in the checkout line in the front of the store. My husband came and stood patiently for a few minutes... I think at first he thought I wanted to look at the magazines or the other stuff they put on that rack by the checkout. When it became clear that wasn't the case, though, he pulled my hand gently and reminded me, "Honey, we already paid for our pills at the pharmacy... we don't need to stand in this line too!!"
I think all the other customers in line thought I was completely off my rocker... and I hadn't even taken any pain meds that day!!!!

THanks a bunch! Really!
TOday is Monday Morning and and I have a few minutes before I start to work here on the computer. I just wanted to say Thanks to you all for writing the cheer up notes. They were funny Some of you are as bad as me:) hehe;) My carpet seems to be drying out ok. But we still have the fans going just for good measure. Donna I have to say yours was really cute, Especially using that little smilely you used was perfect, and Karma the Milk under the Cuboard was:D really funny. my sister in law took out the milk one time, a gallon jug and was filling the babies bottles this was years ago. I went into the frig to get something, only to pull out a gallon jug with a nipple cap on top instead of the milk top LOL LOL cracked me up for days, still does everytime I tell it.:D Just wanted to share that with ya, well thanks again for the support everyone, I am having a better day today also, I got good rest over the week end. Gotta get to work now. Take care.
