I've notice these past few months that I really only experience significant pain as a symptom in the days leading up to my period and during my period. It's a pretty intense pain that wraps around my pelvis and back like a band. Does anyone have tips on how to manage flares that are hormonal in nature?

I take Vicodin during my period. It is the only time of the month I need it. The first two days of my period see me doing nothing but laying in bed otherwise.

I seem to get worse from the day I start to ovulate to the day my period actually starts. I read that some people take BCP to regulate their hormones. After praying about it, I decided to give it a try. This is my first month on BCP.

This has been one of my better months.

Also, I attempt to stick to the IC diet and I take Elmiron.

Hopes this helps!

I will agree about the pill- I don't need pain meds during the two days I take them if I'm on the pill... we are currently trying to conceive though, so I can't be on the pill! I will get back on it though after we either have a baby or give up trying! :)

Im taking BCP pill right now. Do you guys take it continously? I would love if it can help with the IC flares I get 3-5 days before my period. Im taking a monophasic one. So I was wondering if you have to take it continuously to get some relief from those IC flares pre menustral?

I've never taken one continuously, but just the normal ones that have the placebo pills every month lessen my hormonal pain a huge degree.
