Hey all, I have been having numbness in my left arm that has traveled to mky right for over 2 weeks. Had begun duragesic patches around that time so doc thought it might be a side effect at first. told me to switch the patch to my hip, which I did, symptoms haven't abbated.
Then this week I began to have sever joint pain in both my hands and sometimes my feet. Anyways doc told me to go off the duragesic this weekend and if symptoms don't go away by Monday he will refer me to a neurologist and rheumotoidologist. Said fibromylagia a strong possibility. He said that they would also need to rule out lupus.

Anyone been through anything similar. Any experiences or just general thoughts appreciated. I am feeling scared and more than a little run down by the whole thing. Don't know how much more I can deal with! I know u all understand.:help:

I have a very cute bassett hound who I am petting now so all is not lost! :puppy:

I'm sorry to hear about your worries. I have joint pain especially in my knees. It's probably not the same as yours. I know waiting is hard but hopefully he's sendiing you to the right places so you can get help. Try not to stress out. That can't help your situation. I love dogs! I have a rhodisian ridgeback \ golden retriver mix. She's the most unique dog I've seen! Her face is like a golden retriver but is built differently than a golden with a 2 1\2 in mowhake down the length of her spine. I also have 3 kitties. Animals can be very conforting too. Try to relax. I hope it works out well for you. Goodluck. - Chris

Your symtoms don't sound at all like lupus. You haven't mentioned fatigue or low grade fever. I have fibromylagia too and it started with traveling tingling and numbing. A sleep disorder is another symtom of fibromylagia. Good luck!

I would be inclined to think it might be a medication reaction, since you can track the onset of symptoms to when you started the duragesic patches.

Be sure and let us know how you are in a few days.

Warm hugs,

Hi there. It does sound like you have a lot going on.I hope it is just a reaction to the meds.
I thought maybe you would like to check out the fibromyalgia sight, they have info on where the symptoms are for trigger points and such.so here is a link to a great sight fo it.
