Hi I am new here and believe that I have IC. This is probably my fourth flare up in the past two years. They have usually lasted anywhere between two to three weeks. I am into the later part of week four and there seems to be no relief in site. Is there a usually time frame for these flare ups. I am so tired of the pain and peeing - up 10 times a night - thanks for listening.

I wish I could answer you .I haven't not been out of "flare" in almost a year to one degree or another. But today has been one of my better days.
Are you seeing a uro or someone that is helping you?

It so depends on the cause. When it is food.....about a day and half I think...when it is your cycle...about a week....when you IC is just progressing there is no say. Do you get me...sometimes we take a med or something that hurts are bladder and that may take longer to get better.....so if you take something that is very bad the flare will last longer, that goes for bad food too.
I hope that help you...there is no set rules.
Best Wishes

I'm so sorry to hear about that. Sometimes it is hard to even distinguish what is causing the problem. Have you checked out the IC diet? You can look at it from this site somewhere. Sometimes a good first step is to start watching what you eat and when you have a reaction to write it down. Sometimes taking prelief with certain foods helps a little. I have also noticed that 1 week before and a little after my period I get horrible pains. Sometimes it can be connected to that. I hope you find some relief soon. Flares can be very painful I know. Good luck. Take care - Chris :)
