Elmiron and Sore Throat?

I have been on elmiron just over a month, and two weeks ago started getting a sore throat that would come and go, and now has gradually gotten worse. I'm not sick, it's just the throat. I started checking through the side effects for the meds I am currently taking, and evidently it is a potential elmiron side effect. Has anyone else experienced this? If it will eventually go away I can wait it out, but if it gets worse I will need to stop this med, which will really break my heart because I was really hoping it would work for me.

Also, is there anyone who does the elmiron instills instead of oral elmiron? Does that work better? I have had one instill so far, with no effect, though I would assume that would also take time. I am just so desperate for something to work!

One thing some people have found is that the capsule holding the elmiron is a problem. You might try dumping the capsule into water and take it that way, discarding the empty capsule, to see if the sore throat goes away.
