I don't bleed a lot and it stops once I go to bed but after I am up for 5 minutes again in the morning the bleeding and cramping starts all over. Not heavy enough for a tampon and not light enough to use a panty liner. Things are getting very sore down there due to wearing a pad 24/7. I have googled it and will not do the D&C, burning the lining or have a hystercotomy. So, I was just wondering if anyone else had the bleeding for this long and if so when did it finally stop?

You really need to see your doctor. This could be something simple, but it could also be serious.

My last period before going into post menopause lasted 1 month.

I do agree that you should see a doctor to make sure what is causing this.

About 6 months before I went into full blown menopause I was on my period for 3 weeks and off for 1 week. I think if I had waited it out, it might have stopped on it's own. But I couldn't take it anymore so I had an endometrial ablation. I think if I had it to do again I would've pushed for a more extensive blood hormone level. But my gyno made it sound so enticing!! NO MORE PERIODS!!!
I would say see as many doc's as you have to (from what I've learned an endocronologist is the way to go) and get a complete hormone work up. I've always wondered if I rushed into that ablation. I'm not saying the ablation was bad, because it worked. I just wish I had gone into with more knowledge.
Good luck to you!!! And if you have any questions about the ablation I will be happy to talk with you about it.
Wishing you the best!!

I really think you need to go to the dr's too. I had a hysterectomy, it was the best thing I did for my IC. Your uterus sits on your bladder, once the uterus was gone the pressure was gone.

tiggar gal. What type of hysterectomy did you have? I am scheduled for a laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy along with tubes and ovaries removed on MOnday and I am scared to death reading how others have had an increase in their IC pain. Do you still have your ovaries? I had to have an emergency D&C a week ago becuase I was bleeding so heavily and my hemoglobin dropped to 9 and then 8 and needed two blood transfusions. I am still spotting and the endometrial biopsy showed atypical cells but they don't think it is cancer. I know I should have it out but an scared to death now.

I am going through the same thing right now. I lightly bled for a week...for the last week the blood increased. for the last 5 days I have had blood clots that have increasingly gotten larger. I am seeing my doctor today at 1 because this happened to me 4 years ago. had a d and c done and got my IC diagnosed at the same time.
