Does anybody have any experience with this med? I was taking Ditropan 5 MG twice a day and was bumped up to 10MG this week due to flaring on and off over the past month. It seems to be helping as I don't have the pressure anymore, but am still having some increased frequency and a slight burning sensation every now and then. How long does it take on average before you start feeling the effects? I have to travel downstate in three weeks for a conference and am hoping it will be much better before then.

Hey Babygirl. It didnt really help me with that constant pressure of needing to go but it did help me with reducing the amount of times I went to the loo(sometimes) The main thing it helps me with nowadays is Bladder spasms. I soon know if I forgot to take one as my bladder starts bouncing away like you wouldnt believe.

Lee,
Thanks for the response. About how long did it take you to start feeling better?

I've been on it for six years. I was voiding every half an hour. The ditropan (15 mg) took it down to every hour and a half to two hours. For me, it started working within two weeks. It's the only medication I've ever responded to and I've been on just about every IC medication there is.
How long have you been on it? I would think it would start working within a few weeks, if it's going to work.

I've been on it for about a month. Either it's finally kicking in or some of the other new meds are, or they are all working together. Either way, I'm feeling much better now.

Hi Babygirl.
Pretty much it helped with bladder spasms straight away and they drove me nuts but within a few weeks it helped with reducing the urge/frequency. I am still taking them a year later and I have had no trouble with them at all(only a bit of a dry mouth at first but that went away)
I do know they really help me as I have forgotten to take them a few days here and there and many symptoms that I have of IC come back really quick when I am not in remission.
Hope this helps

Thanks all for the information. It's nice to be able to talk to others and hear their experiences with meds. I started taking Cystoprotek the other day, so we'll see what that does for me.

I just started Cystoprotek too. It has shark in it. Why am I amused by consuming shark?
