antidepressant symptom comparisons

I recently switched from Elavil to Pamelor, under the supervision of my Holistic Doctor. It didn't take long to become severely constipated. I have also developed a headache. I'm not sure if this is coincidental.

Does anyone know if Pamelor is known to cause greater constipation than Elavil? I actually think the Pamelor has done wonders for depression. Its the happiest and most ambitious I have been in years. I would love to stay on it, but can't deal with the constipation. Elavil caused some, but not this bad.
