Thank you to every one for all your comments to my thread on How many of us have had surgeries and now have IC. It is much appreciated and has been quit interesting to hear from all of you, I'm sure you are thinking the same as me. For those of you that participated in my polls as well, this has been very interesting to me how many of us have had sooooooooo Many surgeries and now have IC. It really makes you wonder, how much our Bladders can really take. I am thinking of doing another poll here again, I think it helps to here from all of you and find these things out, to tell the Doc's what is going on with others. And maybe they can figure something out to prevent IC from happening to others in the future Who knows but I sure did find this all very inlightning. THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Yep....my doc really thought my hystery made him possitive I had IC before the tests. Now after the hysterectomy...I know my IC is even worse...just my luck. Better than Endo I guess. I know I have to treat the IC more agressively soon so I don't end up like I was when I first got diagnosed.
Thanks for doing your poll....will help others know.

I think IC is caused by so many things. I have read that certain sugeries can injure the bladder etc.

Hey I am a man,but all is the same in this area.I had TURP surgery on my prostate 3 years ago. This was followed by 5 more surgerys on my bladder, due to bladder neck contraction. The first 2 surgerys were done with the traditional method of hot wire slashing. The following were done with Laser six guns blasting. The last was a low voltage laser, with low damage to other areas of the bladder.Hard to prove that damage to my bladder was from earlier laser treatments, but I think that is the reason I have IC today.

I wish I could blame IC on something like surgery, but I'd never had an operation when I got IC.
