OMG yesterday was a not so good day went to uro/gyn and told her about the instill my ob/gyn that made things worse, and so she decided she needed to do yet another cystoscopy(had one 2 weeks ago after being hospitalized for 5 days)! And.. although things looked ok and their was no fistula as might have been with all the peeing of air, as she thought their might be she said that she thinks my urethra is spasming worse than the bladder as she could hardly move the scope! UGH She is going to have me try vaginal valium . She also suggested ditropan which I told her I thought she had tried and she said no I don't think so, but when I got home and checked sure enough it is one of the meds on my no no list as it has blue dye in it (blue dye gives me vomiting/migraines) so I called back only to have the nurse tell me that the doc says it doesn't! Well I called the pharmacist who was no help ! She said she would call the manufacturer but didn't have time til today to call. Whatever... so I researched it and found out it has blue dye! AS I thought. So the nurse is going to ask the doc again what I can take that doesn't have blue dye! Ugh can't they document things! I am so frustrated right now! Another night of suffering in pain as the valium won't be compounded til tomorrow as the pharmacist was too busy to compound it last night and the ditropan has blue dye... so I guess it's pain pills or nothing! I hate taking pain pills they rip up my stomach and make me feel yucky! I am ready to scream! And to top it off she started talking about an implanted device that may help! Sorry but the thought of a 10th abdominal surgery (last one being releasing the herniated bladder that was attached to my abd wall, total hysterectomy, and abdominal wall reconstruction 9 weeks ago)is not exactly enticing! Gotta be an advocate for yourself, because obviously no one else will! Today talked to doc again who is now going to have me try Urispas in addition to the Vaginal valium. I am just so fed up and ready to scream! I've been having so much pain, vomiting, and just plain misery! Been off work except 2 days of the last nine weeks since surgery and I literally feel disabled. I have to return on Tuesday to work and not at all looking forward as I feel worse than the day after surgery. Anyone have luck with Vaginal Valium and or Urispas?

Thanks for listening and letting me vent.

I hope you are doing better. Your BLUE DYE ALLERGY/ADVERSE REACTION SHOULD BE ON YOUR CHART BTW! And why is it that some doctors choose not to take a patient's word seriously in these kinds of matters!?

I hear you about doctor's offices not communicating/documenting things accurately. I just spent an exhausting amount of time and effort to straighten out WHAT THE STAFF DID NOT COMMUNICATE W/ME OR WITHIN THE OFFICE OR THE FIRST PHARMACY-- THE PHARMACY IS FINE, BUT THEY MADE ME SWITCH ERRR !!

If doctors or their staff members had ONE experience in their lifetime similar to yours, mine and countless others-- this bs of non-communication/improper documentation just would not happen as often.

I'm not down on doctors; I have several and I like all of them. But, similar to you, I had to go on an absolute rant to get an Rx refilled.... time marched on and on.... down to the nubs of med I needed... no one called to tell me or the previous pharmacy that there was an issue. The pharmacy received word LAST EVENING-- HELLO-- I CALLED OVER A WEEK AGO B/C THIS INVOLVES SHIPPING TIME-- NOW I'M THE ONE THAT HAS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM THEY CAUSED AND IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME! ERRRRR Do any of us really NEED EXTRA STRESS? The medical school curriculum is in dire need of training doctors to chart with the detail required of nurses; a nurse would NEVER get away with this lunacy.

FINALLY I FOUND THE PHARMACY THAT WOULDN'T CHARGE ME 2 1/2 TIMES WHAT THE Doctor (watch out for that-- maybe there is a "business relationship between the two?") RECOMMENDED PHARMACY CHARGES, COORDINATED EVERYTHING BETWEEN THE DOCTOR, PHARMACY AND MYSELF. What if I hadn't known how to move things forward by continuing to be proactive about my health? I would have been OUT of MED for WHOLE WEEKEND! That's a lifetime when you're managing a chronic illness.
This whole snafu delayed my med by about 5 days; the 5-7 days they sat on my refill request then decided they were not going to refill the Rx at the pharmacy of my choice. Ridiculous! I would go to another doctor for care, but this place, at least medically (minus the inattention to refill requests) is excellent. So, I'll give them another shot.

THANKS TO HERITAGE PHARMACY IN BREA, CA FOR GETTING MY COMPOUNDED RX DONE W/FOUR HOURS NOTICE!
