Does anyone use specific laundry detergent for their underwear because of VV? If you do, could you please let me know? Thanks so much!

I don't have VV, but with my children's skin allergies, I always double rinsed their clothing.

Hillary,

I've heard that double-rinsing helps, and you may also want to use dye-free, fragrance-free detergent (and no fabric softener at all) or detergent that is formulated for infant/baby clothes.

I have used Sears laundry detergent for years, as fragrances bother me. It's such a basic detergent that it doesn't have the additives that give me problems. Might be worth a try.

I use Dreft (baby detergent). Nothing else goes in. No softener.
I put it on extra rinse also.

I use any detergent that is labeled "free of dyes/perfumes". Same with regular bath soap.

I use Arm and Hammer, and I haven't had any trouble with it. Just remember to rinse, rinse, rinse! I do at least 2 rinse cycles on undies and towels, and no fabric softner or dryer sheets.

It took several years, and lots of experimenting, but we have found that everyone in my house can tolerate clothing washed in Cheer. Now I just hope they don't come out with a "new improved" variety --- I'd hate to go back to testing soaps again.
