For the life of me I couldn't find a board for this........

I am on my first complete month of oxytrol after 7 years of dectrol, and of course two infections this month with a flare....... could it be oxytrol? or just a big ol coquisidence?

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your question -- I hope someone will post soon with their thoughts. Are those pain meds?

Take care,
Alexa

These are both anticholinergic meds that are supposed to help with frequency... Detrol is a pill, and I think Oxytrol is a patch. I guess it's possible they could cause flares, but I've never had that experience. Hope you figure it out soon!!!

I did try the oxytrol patches for a few weeks it did not give me a flare but also did not help my frequency. I would check with your doctor and let them know your symptoms.
Hope your feeling better,
Kelly

I'm not sure if I understand your post? Are you having urinary tract infections (UTIs)?

Neither detrol or oxytrol should cause infections. But if you are retaining urine, then you might be more likely to get a UTI.

I have been on detrol in the past and have used oxytrol for almost a year. I also have had many UTIs, but not as a result of detrol or oxytrol.

Talk with your uro and get screened for a UTI if you haven't already. You will need antibiotics if you have one.

Hope you feel better soon,
Nicole
