This was in the Kansas City Sunday paper:
The number of Americans without health insurance is as big as the combined populations of 24 states - nearly 44 million - and that figure is growing. Medical bills now rank as a top cause of personal bankruptcy in the US. Many of the uninsured work for samll businesses that can't afford to provide health insurance. May 10 - 16 is 'Cover the Uninsured Week', co-chaired by former presidents Ford & Carter.
More than 1000 free events are planned coast to coast. If you lack coverage, call 1-888-538-4371 to learn about programs in your area. Or visit www.covertheuninsuredweek.org for more information.
Hope this helps someone,
