View Full Version : Another flare - just what I don't need

My flare started yesterday afternoon. First with frequency and then the pain kicked in along with a raging tension headache. I had to leave work much to their dismay about 3/4 through my shift. There went my perfect attendance for over a week straight. Just my luck!

I'm trying to get through my 30-day probation without missing a day and then had to leave early yesterday due to the pain. My boss said he couldn't promise me if I left that they wouldn't terminate my employment and that I should do what's best for "me". Like that isn't an option, obvioulsy. The gal in HR assured me that they wouldn't terminate my employment due to missing 2 hours - so we'll see what they say today I guess.

I'm just sick of being sick! I'm tired of working under so much stress and knowing that even when I do get sick that I can't be home and rest like I need to. I can't quit because if they let me go I'll need the unemployment and they WILL NOT work with me for a medical leave or to lessen my shift hours for a while. What the hell should I do?

I had Manicotti on Sunday night with lots of tomato sauce and I think that and doing way too much over the weekend brought this bad flare on. I have to go to work today so I pray to God that things go smoother than yesterday or I'm liable to crumble like a dry cookie all over the place.

Hi,
I am sorry you are going through this. I know the tomato sauce would be a problem for me too. Sending hugs, hope you feel better soon.:grouphug:

Traci-
Sorry to hear your flaring. Tomatoes and tomato sauce have a very high level of acid and would most definitly bring on a flare. Try to bring down ph levels, (alkaline your urine) drinking baking soda mixed in water or eating tums can help a lot.....
Good luck and I hope you feel better:pray:

I'm sorry to hear you're flaring again! I hope you feel better soon. I know that your work situation only adds to the stress and that's got to be really difficult. I've missed a lot of work lately myself, mostly due to depression (and a bad reaction to the antidepressant dosage I was given) and my job has been understanding -- so far. They tell you to do what's best for you but they don't consider it their problem to try to help or accomodate you in any way.

Hang in there and feel better!

I am so sorry to hear you are flaring and that you are having problems at work. I am still flaring.I am taking the rest of this week off by using by taking 3 emergency vacation days.

I feel fortunate that I have an understanding boss but some of my co-workers don't seem to understand and have made comments about my numerous bathroom trips. It's not like I enjoy going in there every 30-45 min. I hope you can work things out. People just don't understand. I will keep you in my prayers.

Get well soon - TexasHoney:pray:
