I'm curious. I've had urelle written up for me as something I could take 4x a day as needed. I can't even imagine doing that. (side effects bit much from just one.). Does anyone here actually take it daily and if so, how's it working out for you? I'm very curious. Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Love, H.

My stomach isn't crazy about it and sometimes I flare when it wears off. I know we're all different but I really want to hear from anyone actually taking it the "standard 4x a day.

Sorry Donna got cut off. Anyway yes, really hoping urelle users will speak up since this drug is so widely prescribed.

Helpful but does dry out my mouth a lot. Right now I'm in a PFD flare, going to PT and using an EMPi F3. Urelle helps w/the urethral burning and most days I do take it X4. J

I love Urelle. I treat it like gold as my pharmacy tells me they are very hard to get anymore - I think it has something to do with the rates that insurance companies will reimburse them.
I have a bottle of 30 that costs $60.00 and I will only take them when I'm at misery's door.
When I've taken them in the past they have been a Godsend in calming my bladder and urethral area. And I did take 4 per day.

About 6 months ago when my symptoms were really bad, I was taking Urelle 3 times a day. Now I don't take it everyday....sometimes just once if I feel I need it. It has helped me, and I've been fortunate not to have any bad side effects from it. Pyridium, on the other hand, made me very nauseous, tired, and headache-y.

Thanks for your response. No retention issues for you?

Thanks for your response! pyridium has this terrible rap but I find it works so much faster..still hell when it wears off.

How much does it help? Do you think it's the painkiller aspect, the anti spasm aspect or the combination?

In my opinion, it helps it all. When I tried to cut back to three a day, I started going into a flare. Upped the dose back to 4 and everything calmed down.

I've always used urelle as a rescue med and whenever I stop taking it I generally endure a flare. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a dependency, (In my case. I'm only judging myself and my own weird bodily reactions. Lol.)
It's been interesting hearing from people who do well on it. Want to talk to my doc about this.

Everyday I take at least 1 urelle and 1 pyridium plus, more when I'm in a bad flare like right now.
It's hard to say which one is the most effective as I still feel the pain and spasms no matter what. I just try to alternate the two and do what I can to make them last.
Hi. I do take four per day, and so far (has been about six weeks) have had no problems.
I think it helps. It is hard to tell, because I started pelvic floor therapy, new instil formula, and vesicare almost at the same time.
It is much less expensive for me ordering it via my insurance company's mail order drug program. Rather than paying $1.00 per pill at CVS ($120 per month), I pay $100.00 for 360 pills.
Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hi, Hannah13 ~ I only took Urelle 4xday for a short while because it caused horrible retention.....PA put me on Pyridium 3xday for a month and felt sooo much better. All the pressure, burning went away. I do have to take it with food though or I get the nausea also.
Hope you find some relief soon,

I just started Urelle and I was told to take it 3x a day. I usually avoid water, but I've been drinking a lot because the instructions tell me to. I have not been having much luck.. lots of pain and flares, but they come and go very rapidly. I'm so confused... but I'm going to keep taking it until I use up the whole bottle, at least. I'm wondering if it's the water that's causing me pain, but you'd think the drug would counteract that! Might go pick up some Fiji water and try that for a few days...

Help! I used to post here a lot but my symptoms have improved greatly. I just got my Urelle filled from my mail order pharmacy & they sent me completely different looking pills! The pharmicist there told me that this is the "new" tablet they are making. The old ones were a round shiny purpley-blue color & had an almost sweet coating. These new one are more round "tablet" shaped and are a very dark color. Not shiney. Does anyone know what the deal is? Will they still work the same? I basically take one at night at a "precautionary" for acidic morning urine.
Thanks!
MelindaP :)

Melinda,
I noticed this when I refilled my Urelle most recently also. I didn't notice until I got them home that they were different. (I have no idea why either.) I've been taking the "new" ones for at least a month and haven't noticed any difference in their effectiveness.
