Has anyone been put on this medication to help? Did it work at all?? My dr has prescribed it. Im afraid to take it. Im so discouraged.

I believe the brand name is Flomax. If you do a search for Flomax, you'll find lots of comments.

If you scroll up to see the blue line that starts with "User CP" then look to the right you'll find the "Search" link to search the forums for a specific word, like Flomax. I just tried it and came up with a lot of posts that mentioned it.

Flomax has helped me with retention issues enormously.

I have tried flomax here and there but never seen a difference so I stop taking it. However, I will tell you that I didn't notice any side affects while on it. I absolutely loved...uroxatral!! Like flomax, it's primary use is for men with prostate problems but it really, really, helped me when I had urine retention and I never had such long, full streams as when I was on it!! I swear I even had to urinate less while taking it. unfortunatley, I had to go off it because it was causing severe GI problems and i was very, very, light headed....but boy did it work and I keep it handy in the house for whenever I am experiencing retention.
