This past Tuesday, I went swimming with the little 23 month old that I babysit in our Air Force base's pool. It seemed clean and the smell didn't wreak of chlorine so I thought it would be okay, especially since my IC has been under such good control with the Lyrica.
Well, Wednesday morning (yesterday), I woke up in extreme pain!!! I then urinated and realized I was peeing clots of blood! So, it scared the dickens out of me and I went to the ER. Come to find out I have a bad, bad UTI. They prescribed Cipro for me for the next couple days while they wait on a culture. If this infection is resistant to Cipro like my last one, I might have to be admitted for I.V. medications. Not sure about that though so we'll see when they get the sensitivity report back.
Also, does anyone else have flares...I mean, BAD flares from swimming in chlorinated pools?
