Chamomile Honey-Vanilla Iced Tea

I made this over the weekend. It was so hot out and I wanted something refreshing and cool other than water. This did the trick. I thought I would share and enter it into the contest as well.

Fill teapot with water and bring to a boil (does not need to be totally full)
Add 3 or 4 bags of Chamomile tea
Let steep for a few minutes
Take the tea bags out

While still hot, Add 2 tsp of vanilla extract (without alcohol-I get it from Trader Joe's)
Add a few squeezes of honey (I like a lot)
mix
Let cool. Pour into a pitcher and put in fridge

When cool enough, serve over ice
Very refreshing and very IC friendly :smile tee

Yum, this sounds good. I've been missing iced tea and I love honey. Definitely going to try this.

Twinings tea has a chamomile/honey/vanilla tea that I love. I never thought of making it myself!

Out of curiosity, as I read this I wondered if anyone had ever tried steeping a vanilla bean with the tea instead of using extract. I mean, the extract is fine, and let's face it, vanilla beans are expensive. I guess the secret "foodie" in me wonders if it woud be good or gross.

Has anyone tried Celestial Honey vanilla chamomile herbal tea? Has it bothered anyone? The ingrediants have orange peel, natural honey, chamomile, licorice, roasted chicory and west indian lemongrass.

Hi Tracie

I haven't tried the honey vanilla chamomile, but I did buy the Celestial sweet apple chamomile. It it is yummy and safe for me. (chamomile, natural apple flavor, honey, & soy lecithin)
