I just looked at it on utube and it looks like it's putting a lot of stress on the abdomen. I don't think I'll try it. You might be able to do some of the moves if you back off a bit.

I just signed up for a class. I'm planning to talk to the instructor before class starts & will tell her that I can't do exercises heavy on abdominal work. Then I'll try it at the back of the class, I think, so I can slip out if it's too much. I'm also giving myself permission to only do half the class to start with.

I did Zumba class before and I have to tell you, they really work your abdominals so be prepared for a little jostling around that area. It was loads of fun though and I think I was in a mini remission at the time because I don't recall having any IC issues after it. I don't recommend doing it during your time of the month though, you'll get tired so much quicker and your body won't do what your mine wants it to LOL.

I tried it -
It wasn't bad for me, I did have to slip out and "go" a few times but I think it depends on the routine they're doing also - some were easier than others on your abdominals.

I'd say give it a try, with a talk to the instructor - and don't get upset if you have to stop to use the restroom. It was a lot of fun but definately a workout!

Search for posts-- mainly on the Dex forum- by Nina. She's a Zumba instructor now. She's been in classes for awhile I'd say.

She's actually doing so well that she hasn't posted here in a over 90 days. I see her on FB talking about Zumba.

It's on my list soon. :)
