I am a 33 year old female. I was diagnosed with IC about 4 years ago. Well I haven't had a UTI in forever. And I went to Urgent Care Monday night and sure enough I had one. The doc prescribed me Bactrim and pyridium. Well on top of that I have been suffering with horrible one sided headaches (I have a ct scan scheduled today to see what is going on) I have been taking 6-8 ibuprofen pills a day. Well I had my urine checked on Wednesday and they said the infection was gone..but continue taking the bactrim for the full 10 days. Well i have always been able to pretty much control my IC with diet. I mean when I drink too much soda I get uncomfortable. Anyway since the UTI I have been miserable. Last night my pee felt extremly hot and like it was burning my vaginal area. It was HORRIBLE. SO I drank a little baking soda and water and it helped some. What is this? Why would my pee feel like it is burning me? Is it the ibuprofen? I am scared that this has made my IC worse and I won't pull out of it. Thank you so much for listening and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

i was diagnosed with ic in 2008. up until now i was able to control it with diet too.. it has been getting worse. it think its time to go the doctor and get some meds... i have utis all the time and when i dont have uits it still feels like i have one i hate it. but i also have the feeling like when i go to the bathroom its burning me. sounds like you are having a flare. im so sorry. i hope you feel better soon and can go back to controlling it with just your diet. oh and also you should get checked for a yeast infection since its burning and you just took antibiotics.

It could be the ibuprofen --- it's an irritant for many interstitial cystitis bladders.

I hope you feel better soon.

Warm hugs,
Donna
