I made this yesterday when I heard it was my friend's favorite kind, but I hadn't heard of it until his girlfriend told me about it. They said it's very popular in Hispanic cuisine, and when I saw how to make it I was intrigued! I've never seen a cake made this way before, but, as the name implies, it involves the use of three different kinds of milk that you pour into the sponge cake before applying the whipped cream--please, don't substitute canned or cool whip for the homemade variety!
I wasn't sure how it would turn out having never made it nor eaten it, but it was absolutely divine! It's certainly a guilty indulgence everyone should try at least once, and it's fun to make. Not to mention, at least for me, it wasn't an assault to my IC.
