I'm in the middle of a flare. I have had 3 or 4 since being diagnosed but this one is very different. Now, I do have the frequency, vaginal burning and occasional kidney pain but in addition I'm running a temp of about 100 degrees. Also, I cant eat anything, now for me that could be a blessing, but even my husband cooking for himself makes me nauseated. I'm not taking any meds that I dont usually take. A few minutes ago I felt like I had to pee and I almost didn't make the bathroom. I hadn't felt a real need and then it was immediate. Hope someone can make sense of this. Sue

Sounds like a uti to me you need to call your doctor and get in to leave them a sample to get on an anti. He may even tell you to go to the er to get treated since its late in the afternoon with you running a fever and some kidney pain it could be that the infection is going up into your kidney with you throwing up fever and the pain you need to be treated.
sending you hugs and prayers Please let us know how you are.

I agree, also. Sounds like it could be a UTI.

I thought of that so I've been on Cipro for 4 days. That's usually my drug of choice for UTI's but I'll take take your advice advice and call my doc in the am. Of course I'm supposed to take a cruise in a week. Sue

I just recently got over a UTI. Cipro, Macrobid, Augmentin did not work, even though the culture showed sensitivity to the bacteria. Doxycicline finally did the trick. That was a long 4 weeks!! Please get a culture done if you can. Good luck!

I have to agree that it sounds like infection, especially with the fever. My best suggestion is to call your physician.

Warm healing thoughts,

I had IC for about 4 years and everytime I went to the doc he did a culture for infection and after I was diagnosed I stopped getting that done. There was never an infection. When the IC was bad I couldnt tell the difference and one time I did have a genuine infection and it went on for months because I thought it was just the IC getting worse. I guess my point is to always keep in check with the possibility that it may be an infection in addition to the IC.
