I was nervous to go swimming because I hadn't tried it since my IC symptoms started last year. Well, taking some of your advice, I vasolined everything up (haha!) and swam a little bit today. I tried to not stay in for very long because I wanted to test it out a little bit first.

Well, there's good and bad news.

The good news: so far, I haven't gotten much of a flare! Maybe a tiny bit of irritation but I get that sometimes randomly anyway so it's hard to attribute it to the swimming.

The bad news: WOW! Today made me realize how out of shape I really am! :lmao:

Thank you for that! My hubby has been working hard to get the pool ready and I am afraid to get in as this is the first time I swim with IC!

Yeah! Use some vasoline to coat the whole area. Try not to stay in for too long, at least when you're testing it. As soon as you're done swimming, don't sit around in your wet swimsuit. Get in the shower as soon as you're done swimming and wash off really well and put on some dry clothes. :smile tee

Wooohhoooo! My local pool switched last year from chemicals to a natural salty like treatment. Swimming is now my favorite form of exercise. I wish more pools would forgo the harmful chemicals (which really aren't good for anybody or the environment) because it's good exercise for IC since you don't have the pressure on your body like with running or more strenous things.
