I had a series of 6 instills and finished on May 28th. They told me it would take 4-6 weeks after the instill were completed before I would probably feel improvement. This seems strange to me. I did have some slight relief right after I had the instill, but nothing since. I was wondering what everyone's experience with instills were (I honestly can't remember the exact cocktail) and if and WHEN people had success. Many thanks

For me I did the heparin/lidocaine instill once a week and my Uro told me it could take up to 8 months before I could see any results. I was just about to give up because I couldn't take the extra pain from having it done when all of a sudden it started helping and it was 8 months exactly. Have been doing it for 10 years now. maybe longer.I lost track long time ago.

I don't remember exactly how long it took for my instills to start working but it was some where around 6-8 weeks. The first one or two actually irritated my bladder really bad. Mine are done with Elmiron, Bicarb, and Lidocaine.

Maylies~Momma,
If you don't mind me asking, i see that you were diagnosed and then had children just a few years after. How did the pregnancies go for you? I am on so many medications right now, and doing ok, I am afraid to get off of all of them. But my husband and I would like to try to get pregnant in the next year or two, and i am anxious about how getting off all the medications will affect me and a pregnancy. Any help? Thanks.

Hi, judy45 ~

I'm still having in office instills, but am seeing results after about 14 over the last 11 weeks. Started with 1xWeek and am at 2xWeek. My doctor never told me to stop and wait for results. We always discuss the fact of seeing results before I stop. Of course I'm on other meds, but I think these are helping the most. Mine are heparin/licocaine/bicarb/and occasionally Kenalog. They will teach me to do them myself.

Sorry you still feel poorly :( and hope you find relief soon,
Ginger
