Would Atarax work for urethral discomfort? What's the lowest dose effective?

Hi! My Uro prescribed me 25mg Atarax to take at night. I have mainly urethral discomfort & some bladder discomfort (except when flaring-then it's hell). Has anyone found it was helpful for this? Seems like most take it for frequency & sleeping thru the night (I don't have frequency & sleep thru the night). Also, what's the lowest dose that is effective? How long till I see results?
