Hi All

saw the uro this morning, 2 lots of news!! firstly i saw pics of my bladder and it showed "red blistery spots"Imflammation!! he also said i have quite a few Mast Cells?? they are suspious of IC and are going to speak with the pathologist regarding the degree?? he said about a 5th of my symptoms are IC but they feel i also have a PUJ obstruction of the right kidney!! i am to have a scan within the next 2 weeks to confirm this and they will have to insert a tube to collapse the kidney in the hope that this may help, IF not then a bigger op will be performed!! ( never rains but pours for me LOL)

I am to have Sodium Bycarb!!YUK!! what do i do with it!!Ha!! he said to may help with IC symptoms!! apparently i cannot have any Inflams due to te kidneys/bladder and so just plod on with plain old pain-killers which do bugger all!!

I mentioned to the Uro about this site and that lots of ICers complain of loin ache!! he said All kidney pains should be investigated as all may not be "refered pain!! so with having both symptoms my adivse for any of you having recurring loin pains to go get it checked.

I absolutely agree with your doctor --- any pain needs to be investigated. Sometimes we can blame new pains on our IC, but it's not necessarily so.

I hope your additional tests are okay.

Warm healing thoughts,

When my first IC pic came back it showed the petechial hemorrhages and mast cell inflammation from the biopsy. Elavil eventually helped me. Did they find any Hunner's ulcers?

I didnt ask and they never mentioned it?? they were more concerned with the kidney problem although i will ask in june when i go back!! One thing they did recommend was Cranberry juice/pills!! yet the IC boards say cranberry can really irritate the bladder!! maybe he ment for the kidneys/infection eh!!

It's not unusual for medical professionals to recommend cranberry juice. But --- even though cranberry juice is known to help prevent infections, it is much to acidic for an IC bladder. Many ICers refer to it as the "acid bomb" --- and it's irritating to nearly everyone with IC.
