We went to a BBQ last night. I brought 2 salads. I also made my own dressings for the first time. I've gotten so tired of using just oil.

The first salad was spinach, baby greens, blueberries, almonds, and mozzarella cheese. I made a dressing with cottage cheese, honey, blueberries, and almonds. I blended it all together. It was good but I'm not s fan of sweet salads. The dressing tasted like blueberry yogurt.

The other salad was more traditional-baby greens, romaine, carrots, celery, orange, red and green peppers, cucumber, hard boiled egg, grape tomatoes (I didn't eat but my girls love them). For the dressing, I blended cottage cheese, garlic, dill, basil, salt and pepper. It was very good! My husband liked it too. I'll keep this on hand to put on potatoes and even burgers. I'm getting tired of foods with no condiments.

I did fine with the rest of the meal too. I brought my own water and root beer. Our friends made one chicken plain and one batch of asparagus with just salt. Everything else was marinaded and smelled so good, but I had enough to choose from.

I did break down and have 3 chocolate chip cookies. I was going to have just one but they were fresh from the oven and couldn't resist. I feel OK though. Man, I really miss chocolate!
