I just got back from the ER - another UTI!!! This is so frustrating. I'm trying to do some instills at home and every time I do one I get another UTI. I am using a new cath every time. I was my hands and everything else important w/antibacterial soap prior to instill. I found that doing in bathtub works best for me and I even wipe the entire tub down with anti-bacterial wipes. I keep the cath, syringe, etc. on a newly washed, clean towel so it doesn't touch and surfaces. I use a clean glass cup to pour the lidocane into (it's washed w/anti bac soap also). I just don't know what to do. My uro retired from the Air Force last week and set me up with the nice 8 Fr cath, etc so it's so much easier but I don't know what I'm doing wrong and I'm w/o a doc right now. this is so frustrating!!!!
