I'd like to thank Cindy T. for submitting her patient story and including a picture of her bladder before & after hydrodistion. You can see hers, and other bladder pictures, at: http://www.ic-network.com/md/distentions.html
Cindy's story is now up but I'm working on several others today as well. So, the front page of the patient stories hasn't been changed yet. You can read her story at: http://www.ic-network.com/patientstories/cindy.html

I read your story. Why does the word "begging for help" always come up in our stories. We all go thru so much. The pic of your bladder looks like mine did when IC was real bad. Teresa

Great story Brat!!
Thanks for sharing!! It gives those of us still struggling to get control of our disease lots of hope. I am glad I read your story. It was really helpful in understanding the process of the interstim trial. Thank you so very much!!!

Jill,
Is there anyway we could see what a normal bladder looks like under hydro so we can compare? I am curious to know what healthy bladders look like.

"Ground control to Major Tom, comencing enjines countdown on"
Holy bologna, the IC bladder looks like the "Red Planet"( ie. Mars).
I have been diagnosed with IC for almost 3 years now and have yet to see an IC bladder. Thank you so much that was very helpful and informative, my Husband is saying "WHOA!!" yes "WHOA' we IC patients know this woe!!!

Yeah I used to say mine looked like a red moon until the new pictures of Mars came back. One quadrant was so called normal (and it was a light pink color) so I presume that a normal one is free of the red hemorrhaging.

I agree with JessicainArkans, The IC bladder does look like the red planet.

Thank you for your story...but one thing remains in my mind, if I have IC, will my 2 year old daughter one day develope this
dreadful disease? I'm almost at the interstim point in my
treatments, and if the cysto w/ cauterization of ulcers next week
doesn't work for me, by the fall or early next year I might by
contacting you for advice on interstim. Good to hear that it has helped you.

Jill,
I'm like Cathy and would really like to see what a normal bladder looks like. Do you think you could find one on this planet? :)

My IC symptoms are pretty mild, so when I have the cysto on June 28th I'll see if I can get a picture of my bladder. Then I'll send it to Jill to compare a mild IC against severe.
Do the pictures of the bladder come on a computer disk? I wondered how those pictures were sent to Jill?

I asked my dr before I went under sedation for my cysto and hydro to take a picture so I could take it home.. then I scaned it and sent it to jill.. If you get yours on a disk its easy as 123 to copy to your pc and email out.
hugs
Brat
