If you google IBS DIET you will come up with an abundance of sites. Look for Heather's site, she has some pretty good guidelines. When I was researching for my daughter, I discovered that a lot of the advice about IBS diets is contradictory, and in fact it seems less consistent than the IC diet. It can also be very individual, just as the IC diet is. My daughter found the best way to deal with it was to stay away from traditionally gassy foods such as beans and legumes and certain veggies, and to eat very simply. Bland proteins, lots of white rice, white bread and noodles, no alcohol or soda or coffee, not a lot of sugar, not a lot of dairy or red meat. She found mushrooms to be very easy on her system. Read all about it, then trial and error. There's a lot of discussion about soluble vs insoluble fibre on IBS sites. Since fibre can be hard on the gut, it is worth trying to figure out which foods deliver fibre that you can tolerate. Some fruits and veggies such as potatoes and apples have a skin that is insoluble fibre, and flesh that is soluble, so maybe peeling certain foods can help.

Thank you! I was sick on monday and went to the doctor. Fever, little nausea, and then the diarreah started while I was there. They tested me for flu and some blood work. She put me on Cipro and it's never upset my stomach before. But it's been 5 days and my stomach is still a little upset. Worried about developing something else with ic. Maybe I am a little paranoid. Only have 1 more day on the Cipro and hope the stomach thing will clear up. Sure is hard to go anywhere! Never know when it's going to hit. :(
Least my bladder isn't hurting right now....
