:hi: All!
I am so embarrassed, I am leaking today for the first time in a couple of months. My underwear is wet and I can smell myself, sorry for this being so gross! I just don't know what to do! Does anyone else get this? What do I do to get it to go away? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I hope everyone is having a good, pain free day!

If you haven't already discussed this with your urologist, I do suggest you do. I did some leaking after surgery and I used sanitary pads until it stopped. I still wear panty liners just because I feel cleaner that way and I use a hormone cream that creates a little discharge.

Warm healing thoughts,

i AGREE, PANTY LINERS ARE PROBABLY YOUR BEST LINE OF DEFENSE. TALK TO THE DOC ABOUT IT, IT COULD ALSO, BE A PROLAPSED BLADDER NEEDING A LIFT. KATHI

Thanks for the replies! Kathi, don't scare me like that! :yikes: I surely hope it isn't a prolapsed bladder! I will try the pantiliners and talk to my Uro about it when I see him next week.

Hillary,

I noticed that when my pelvic floor muscles were spasming, I was more likely to experience leaking (I used pantiliners as well.) I also noticed that at those times I would have incomplete emptying, which meant that as soon as I got up and started walking around, etc I would start leaking. So, I learned to sit there longer when urinating and just relax those muscles to make sure I emptied completely.

Have you done Kegels to try to strengthen those muscles?

Hope it goes away soon! I know how frustrating that is!!

I leak too. I know some others with Ic that do too. It is gross. But It doesn't mean that something else is wrong. My doc told me it was part of IC. I have also read that although it is uncommon, it is a symptom of IC. I have to wear pantyliners everyday and I long for the day when I don;t have to wear one!!!!

Sorry to have scared you:kissing: sure didn't mean to. It's just that sometimes we all just disregard things & it's important to always check with your doc when something unusual happens. So sorry:bonk: Hugs, Kathi

Hilary,
I leak all the time. I do have a prolapsed bladder from having Lindsey but I'm sure my small bladder capacity and retention don't help either.

I haven't been formally diagnosed with IC, but I have leaking, too, especially after I pee. When I get up, it's like I'm not done! I'll think to myself, "How can I pee my pants when I just went 30 seconds ago?!" I always have to change my undies at least twice a day.

Some things I've just lived with for so many years, they've become a normal way of life for me. I'm learning that some of them aren't normal at all.
