:) Hi there everyone. I have had a problem today and wondered if anyone else has gone through this & why...should I worry? I have to pee really bad (and i know i really have to go, like its not an infection thinking I have to go ya know)...and when I go to the bathroom I CANT PEE! Nothing will come out! I have to PUSH literally for it too and little drops come out then stop...then I have to push again...when I say push I mean HARD! Meanwhile, Im in severe pain, cramps and burning inside. Along w my IC I do have the problem that my bladder does not completely empty BUT Ive never had this problem of not being able to pee before. Anyone experience this and what is it. I had my 1st dmso on Fri.
Incase that did something??? '

Have you been checked for a UTI? You may not even know you have one... I didn't till I went in for a urine culture, now I can't get rid of it!! I've been on 4 different antibiotics, and I'll know the results of my most recent culture tomorrow. Please make sure you get checked for one. Liz

You need to talk to your Dr. You should never Strain to go, it is not good for you. Sometimes when this has happened to me I have sat in a tub of water.

and I do get it occasionally too during a bad flare. I only just started getting it recently.
It is awful.
Sorry I cannot even tell you what is done about it. I don't know. I have heard that having a hot bath and peeing in the tub can help.

It sounds like a uti. You may want to run it past your doc and have a culture done. I am going through it right now myself and it is very hard to void and you know you have too but it feels like glass when yu do pee just a drop or 2.

Yes I do have that same feeling and I have it now. I am going to call doc in the morning and make sure theres no infection. I would call your doctor just to make sure. I hope your feeling better.

Thank you :kiss: everyone for you responses. Maybe I will call the dr if it continues all night and morning...the inside of me, right inside of me is hurting too. More than the norm and the cramps and BADDD...

Maybe the catheter from the DMSO caused a UTI. Call the doctor!

I retain when I get a lot worse real fast....that can happen from an infection.

It does sound like you might have infection. And please --- do not strain --- it only makes the problem worse. I agree that you should be calling your doctor.

Straining makes worse. I've started turning sink water on full blast and must sit and wait up to 10 or more minutes to pee. fun, huh... we do what we must........

Jolene, actually no I havent yet. I suppose I will today give a call. My dr is on vacation so I was hesitating calling cause I wanna get him. Thats why I wanted to see if it were a common IC sympton, as I never had it before. Thanks Jolene and once I know why I will repost to everyone ...thanks all for your respnses.

Thank God for this support!! I learn more here than at drs office..even my hubby has learned more from this site!

Christine, you could also try a home UTI test kit to see if it shows infection. If your uro is gone maybe a primary could help with this. One way or the other though I think you might want to get this checked out. The home kits aren't prefect and do miss some infections though. Some people like them others don't.:grouphug:

this has been happenning only since i had my first nerve block, 3 wks. ago. ALSO had all the time after i had cysto/hydro.


aside from running water in sink, there's another way.

put water in sqeeze bottle and sqiurt down there when you're trying to pee.

These will work, i promise!
