Guess I should not have read the complications list before posting this....now I'm really scared and have questions. He said it is installed over the muscle, but under the fat. I joked with him "Do you mean there wasn't enough fat in my butt at the time?" :D
Interstim was installed in April 2002 on the left. From the start, the top part of it bulged out of my backside. Hurts to sit unless I wear a mini-foam cushion on it. Forget about leaning against anything or sleeping on that side or my back. Stomach sleeping hurts my IC. So, the doc is going to fix it. Wouldn't even have it done but sometimes it seems like the whole box is shifting inside and I get shocks! :yikes:
Will they put a new one in instead of reinstalling the old?
Does tissue stick to it when they uninstall the box? (sorry, that is gross, but scary!)
Is it considered a revision when they only replace the box and don't change the wires?
Any and all prayers and support are gratefully accepted. The surgery is scheduled for 12:30 tomorrow, so, unfortunately, I'll have AM time to think about what will happen.
Yes, I will ask my doc before we begin...can't believe I didn't ask these questions, since I've been hoping he'd suggest fixing this problem. But, I really wanted to hear about any experiences anyone had had with revision surgery.
As always thanks for any responses and especially thanks for your support.
