Where to begin!?! I am really going out of my mind now. I knew I had this since I was 18 and doctors kept giving me antibiotics and telling me I never had infections. They put me on macrobid a few years back, but it soon stopped having much of an effect. Over the past year or two, I got terrible urgency and compensated by drinking more water. I have not felt relief from using the restroom in over a year. Every time I go I have a stabbing pain that follows and persists. I am in my final semester at school and had to care for a sick parent. All I want to do is focus on my work, but instead I am stuck in bed and crying every day. I have to hide at work, because sitting has become so unbearable for long periods of time and I go to the bathroom to cry. I slouch in class so I don't put pressure on the area. I've tried the diet, Elmiron, bottled water, Cystoprotek, Lidocaine, Prosed, and Pyridum and nothing is working. I take Darvocet at night and even that does not cut the pain. I tried Elavil once and had the worst panic attack where I woke up unable to breathe and then had the worst hangover/cottonmouth of my life. After the instills, which I could barely hold for 5 minutes, my urethra became so swollen and painful that I could not drive and needed extra Lidocaine and a painkiller after the procedure. After I told the doctor that it was so painful, she put me on Doxycycline for "urethritis" which did nothing as well. I hate the antibiotics, because I have cyclical yeast as well that makes the issue worse. The pain seems to migrate and take on different forms. This week it feels like the whole thing is just sunburned and raw. This has become unbearable. I'm so afraid of graduating and being without insurance and a job when I get out of school. My mother is pressuring me into either going to grad school or getting a job just so I can have insurance. I feel really trapped and edgy and have outbursts on people. I get about 4 hours of sleep at night I'm so aggravated!!! RAHHHHHHHHH.

You posted things you have tried, but you did not mention the diet, I actually assume you are following it. The diet helpped me the most, but it did not help until I followed it to a T, after awhile my bladder settled down and then I found I could eat more things.
