.... Back in late January or early February my heating system went out, I had someone come out and fix it and they mentioned to me that my AC unit needed to be cleaned/flushed. Told me how much it was going to be. Thankfully I won't have to pay that as my brother in law has his own AC/heating business in Houston and he told me that whatever the cost is I better not pay that!. He is coming this weekend (just in time for our Summer heat) and clean it for me, the only thing he is going to charge me is for a dinner out with us (him/sister/myself and husband) and a place to sleep Saturday night. I told him I think I could do it.
This weekend my septic tank was having "issues". My husband said it just probably needs cleaning, so I called a septic company and the guy who I talked to said we can come today if there is someone home, I told him there was but that this someone had no money to pay, he said well, we will still come out and you can pay tomorrow (I thought, Wow; you just don't hear that anymore!).
However, it just wasn't the tank that needed cleaning- the pump was out. that costs me big bucks. Thankfully, they said that I can pay in 3 (easy payments??) yeah, right. But of course, I don't have a choice here.
thank goodness for my son, he offered to help pay for the first installment. When I get home from work tonight, I will let my other son know that since he owes me some money that next month will be his turn. I know that he won't like that but, he lives there too.

Hope all of you had a nice Easter and coming week.

Well, that doesn't sound good! I know what you mean about "if it's not one thing it's another...". Why is it breakdowns seem to come in streaks?

That's a great deal your brother in law is offering! -Depending on the cost of the dinner anyway! :lmao:

Don't you just want to tell the Big Guy sometimes it is someone else's turn? :help:

I do want to say you seem to have a wonderful attitude despite the string of bad luck. Also, great job being a bit assertive with your second son to help you get this paid for.

Sending you hugs, prayers, good thoughts, and anything else that can help you get through all of this!

Vicki you are right there, depending on the price of dinner! Dinner on Saturday is either going to be at the Salt Lick (BBQ-I really can't eat that but I can pick at it and take it home for my husband). Or the Salt Grass (which I think is a steak house; looked at both menus and the Saltgrass restuarant doesn't list is prices- so that might tell me something there! but the BBQ does and its prices are affordable. Hopefully they will choose the BBQ.

I miss that good TX BBQ! Of course, I guess with IC I wouldn't be eating much of that anymore anyway.

I used to eat at a restaurant out on Hwy 71, just south of 620. I can't remember the name of the place but it served the best fried oysters I've ever eaten!

Well Sister and her husband came down and cleaned my A/C. He said that the A/C company that said it needed to be flushed/drained, etc was just trying to get my money! B-I-L did cleaned it/put some frieon (?) but all it took was maybe 45 minutes. He did say that the type of leak that I have I will probably need a new A/C in about a year or 2 and he told me how much it would cost from a company and also his prices. Didn't have to pay anything for his services today of course, but I am getting some kind of receipt to show that it was cleaned, etc. so that the next time it needs work on it the warranty company can't say its not up to par.

Yesterday was our 27th anniversary and I actually took the day off, partly because of my sister and BIL wanted the house cleaned and also my husband was off, but he ran some errands. I cleaned till I worked myself in a flare. When I went to bed last night, I was so tired but I couldn't get to sleep and when I did it wasn't for long.
This morning we went out to breakfast (IHOP) and then some more errands. Later tonight after my son gets off work we are all going out to dinner (they wanted something all american so I suggested Crackle Barrel.
right now they went to the hotel to get ready plus rest for a few hours. We had a nice visit.
Anyway, they will probably leave sometime tomorrow morning. They want to go to the bluebonnet festival (don't know which town is doing this-probably quite a few as the bluebonnets are really out - my front yard is full of them, its a running gag in my family that the yard can't be mowed till they are all gone, (bluebonnets in Texas is the state flower and its against the law to destroy them. I told them that is on state property.
