Boo hiss, fabulous people!

I'm taking my first long flight post-all this bladder and va jay jay stuff.

I was all psyched b/c I've been doing fairly well w/ Cystoprotek and amitriptyline. I had been able to add a substantial variety to my diet and work out, many new things, still plugging along with PT since I have a terrible pelvic floor that hasn't been addressed yet.

That's right, now I'm flaring! It's like I can feel my bladder shrinking...

It's probably like a perfect storm of flare-dom. I lost a close relative recently so I've done extra traveling and skimped the PT on top of grief/stress...got feisty with the eating/drinking...it's pollen season...I already had a nice vulvodynia flare going on...my hormones are messed up (my cycles have just stopped cold)...it's quite a list.

Every time it hurts more I go into the catastrophic thinking spin cycle. Blargh.

Best wishes to all of you...wish me luck...me and the survival kit are gonna rack up some sky miles. (Airline security, incidentally, is not a fan of my heating pad cord.)

Yay me!

You described "the perfect storm of IC" my dear. Well said... well studied and well explained. Remember, when you're in a flare, go back to the basics... focus on calming and soothing your bladder, your pelvic floor and your spirits. When I travel, I use small doses of both a muscle relaxant and a pain med to get me through the duration of the trip. I really hope yours goes well! We're behind you 100%.

OMG.. your description really was perfect!!!!

Oh geeze! I'm so sorry this is happening to you right now before your trip!
(Any chance you might have an infection?)

Yep, like Jill said I would go super-safe where food, comfort, and activity are concerned if at all possible, and then cross your fingers this flare will pass quickly.

My condolences on the loss of your relative.

Well, I lived. Arizona was fascinating. And I'm going to miss the frizz-free good hair days. I feel a little better than I did but I start instills again next week which I am not looking forward to. Burny "irritative voiding," gahhh. I tried to be good on the diet but wasn't completely successful...I did find a Whole Foods and got some things there so thank goodness I had this site to remind me which water brand I had seen West Coast people talk about, etc.

Thanks for the support, it meant a lot and I really tried to represent myself well.
