I've been on Cystoprotek since November and I think it was helping. However, I have been having more crampy lower abdominal pain and more gas. IBS symptoms really. I think the Cystoprotek is the cause. I had tried just Quercetin years ago and that had some uncomfortable GI symptoms. I decided to try just glucosamine and chondroitin alone this week but still have teh GI symptoms. I'm going to stop all of the supplements for a couple of weeks to see how I feel. I'm a little bummed since I do think it helped a lot with the IC symptoms, but then I was always uncomfortable with the lower GI symptoms. It's always something. Has anyone else had GI issues from the Cystoprotek? What about GI issues from Glucosamine/Chondroitin?

I just started Cystoprotek last week too and I am having more nausea lately. I can only do 1 pill at a time. I made the mistake of taking 2 the other night and I was so nauseous I couldn't sleep. I also freeze my capsules which I've read conflicting info on but I figure if I'm feeling nauseous it must still be doing something. I think I'm already feeling a benefit with my IC but am bummed about the nausea and increase in heartburn. I have taken Querticin separately and never had an issue. Glucosamine and chondrotin are notorious for being hard on a person's stomach so it doesn't surprise me.. I just googled glucosamine and nausea and came up with numerous links.. here's one..

Hi
Your story sounds just like mine. I tried cystoprotek too and had gas and bloating issues. I tried Glucosamine and chondrotin years ago for knee issues and never had an issue. I tried it again for my IC a year ago and had the same bloating/gas issues. So I am thinking that one of my other meds must be interacting with it. I felt great on cystoprotek but couldn't handle the side effects. I called the company and they stated they never heard of this problem. I am in a catch 22 situation and can't wean of my meds (my IC gets worse) and can't do cystoprotek due to the side effects. I started in small doses, froze them, ate with food, ate without food and took meds out of pills. If find a solution--let me know because I am up to trying anything.

Me too! I get gas, diarrhea, and so much pressure on my bladder when I take 2 cystoprotek (within about an hour of taking them). I am down to 1 per day only. I don't know if that will do any good or not. urg.
