After several months of controlled symptoms with rare, manageable flares I've spiraled down back to where I was at the beginning. Voiding up to 20X a day, constant pain, the ongoing trauma that is IC. Afraid to leave my house, "chained to the toilet" syndrome, etc. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. I have not stopped doing any of the things my uro or PT told me to do, I've been doing everything "right" drinking water, ic diet, meds etc etc. Yet, I'm experiencing this catastrophic setback and it's only getting worse. Not being able to figure out why this is happening has driven me to despair and made it very hard to come up with a plan of action.
This is what I have so far.
1. Find a therapist with experience with chronic pain patients.
2. Find an allergist who hopefully can uncover any allergies I didn't know about and treat them. (Last march was when this whole thing started for me, maybe March is a bad month for my body in some way?)
3. Go back to my uro yet again and try to address and halt my present degeneration. Sanctura caused too much retention for me. I hope there's something which will address the constant spasms and not cause retention.
4. Continue PT of course.
Am I leaving anything out?
Love, H.
