I have a new spinning wheel!

My husband just built me a new spinning wheel. I can't wait to try it. I'm having my post op spinal fusion x-rays this afternoon and hope I will be given clearance to spin again. I'll try to post a picture later --- it's really a very beautiful wheel and only 17 inches tall.

I have lots of alpaca fleece to spin.

I tried out the wheel for a few minutes, but I'm going to have to work up to it slowly. I LOVE it. It's about half the size of my other one.

I still can't figure out how you can spin with a wheel that is only 17 inches tall; or is that the wheel height and not the over all height?

Sharon, it's the overall height. Terry designed it and has made probably ten by now. I got to "name" the little one and decided to call it the "Wee Spin" --- he has sold most of them, but I got to pick the one I want. I decided on a solid wheel instead of one with spokes because the wood is so beautiful. I took some pictures, but I need to use a lighter background so the wood will show better.

Sound like Terry is a handy guy to have around! I'm looking forward to seeing the picture of your new wheel. Many of my friends around here are into spinning, and also make such beautiful things from the wool.

So, do you have your own alpacas too?
