IC or Change of Life

Hi,

I've been diagnosed with IC but I am beginning to wonder if it's hormonal. I am going throught the change of life, I'm 48 and it started for me about 5 years ago. I have really bad vaginal dryness, intercourse is agonizing, my periods are all over the place and I have dry eyes, dry skin, hot flashes, and night sweats. Anybody else question their IC? Any suggestions?

You are definitely on the right track & will find a great deal of info on ic, hormones & hormone-related symptoms in this forum. Both of these links will take you to very informative posts. Also search "Elizabeth Vliet"--she's a doctor whose work on hormones highlights the connection between estrogen and ic or ic-like symptoms. In addition, a search for "Estrace" (it's an estrogen cream to be applied topically) will offer even more information.

Ask your doctor for a script for Estrace Cream. It is used vaginally. I was suffering just as you are, and this stuff worked wonders.
