I've not had one (a pain free day) in so long I forgot what it felt like!
I started Desert Harvest three days ago, could it have really helped that quickly?
I had no morning urthrea pain. I am just not quite sure what to do with myself! :smile tee

MommaD I have been taking things one day/moment at a time too. It's a really good day! Can't wait to meet you next week! You're going to the support group, right?

Yes, I hope to go to the support group. I went to Dr. Singh's office yesterday and met with Angie. I thought I might have a UTI I was in constant pain, spasms, having the urge to go ...etc. She was so helpful. Has me going strictly on the diet and keeping a food diary so we can see what might be problem foods for me. She is going to talk to Dr. S and put me on an antidepressant and give me a pain med. for those bad days.
Angie also gave the name of a woman who directs a support group for IC which has been meeting for 10 years! We will have to see how this group goes on the 2nd or if we would be better off with a more established group of Dr. Singh's patients.

MommaD let me know what you find out about the other group. WOW you really got some great help from Angie. I totally feel like I'm on my own.

I've only had it for a week or so thankk goodness, after not having it for a 15 years, now that's damned good!!

I began the IC diet earlier this week with tons of water, peppermint tea and slippery elm powder(1 tsp in a cup of hot water... it soothes inflammed mucus membranes). Also 1/2 a 7mg clonazepam tablet which can act as a muscle relaxant as well as alleviating anxiety, as I can't take ditropan... I've also restarted the Ovestin Vaginal cream, which can also help with urinary symptoms if your post menopausal...

May yours continue to improve.
Cheers Lesley (New Zealand)

CFS, suspected Sjogrens Syndrome, suspected Lupus.

Meds: 10 mgs Doxepin at night,
Ovestin Vaginal cream
Brufen Retard 800 (at present and when needed)
Magnesium complete

I'm going to have to try the tea you suggested.

I'm back to having urthrea pain and bladder spasams. The pain free lasted I think about 36 hours. It was great while it lasted.

Hey, MommaD, I'm a patient of Dr S's too... I'd be interested in hearing more about the other IC support group in FW. Mainly just because the one at Parkview is on a day I usually work til the evening! :-S

I did truly enjoy the first meeting @Parkview though! It was just so great to meet people who KNEW what it was like living with IC!

I like putting faces with names so I'm curious which person you were. (My pic is in my sig) You can PM me if you'd rather not describe yourself online. ;)

I'm glad to hear people are finding relief from supplements & alternative methods! Always great to hear that something is working! :D

Hi! My name is Sara which never came up that night. I was about 15 min. late so I don't know how the meeting started. I was sitting in the inner circle to the left of Jodie. I have shoulder length brown hair, glasses, thin....too thin. I had on a black and white shirt and black stretch pants. (cann't wear anything else right now)
What did you think of the meeting? I think Dr. S is more knowledgeable than Dr. H. but I did like him. I will let you know when I hear back from the contact person of that support group.

I really liked the group! (And I'm pretty sure I know who you are... because it bothered me that nobody ever asked your name! LOL)

One reason I'd prefer to keep going to it would be that we're all kinda "babies" in the group, and so we can grow & learn together. Jumping into a group that's already been together for 10 years might be a bit awkward. I mean, I realize they probably haven't all been going for 10 years, lol, but it might be tight. I guess you never can know til you try!

I really like Dr S, but I can certainly see how she could rub people the wrong way! When I saw her I had already tried the diet & it wasn't giving me enough relief. Without Elmiron & my relief drugs (I use Sanctura & Urelle, but ONLY when truly needed) I wouldn't be able to work... and I HAVE to work!

One thing I did really like about Dr H was his humor! I do appreciate people who can make you laugh... and when you can make a whole room of IC patients laugh, well, job well done!

Oh, and my name is Naomi. :) In case you didn't hear it because you were late. So nice to meet you! I wish we could have stayed & talked more, but we had to drive back to Warsaw, plus I had to work the following morning... but it was really great just to be in a room full of people who KNOW what this is like!
