I just received my bottle of BladderQ, but I wonder if I should have ordered Bladder Control instead. Has anyone tried that? Also, do you take your normal prescription medication along with the BladderQ? Thanks.

Hi lsmith how are you? I would not order bladder control.
that would cause you to retain fluid and that is not what you need with IC we already retain fluid we need to get rid
of as much fluid as we can . As for bladder Q talk to your DR.
befor taking or at least let him /her know you are taking this.I
went for a DMSO treatment yesterday and my DR. took more
then 240cc out of my bladder. next week I get to learn how to
cath my self to enpty my bladder. lsmith take care of your self ok

lsmith keep takeing your medications your DR. has you on unless
he/she tells you to stop takeing them ok . how long have you had IC ? 1999 I found out I had IC.I'm glad I found this message board I'm not alone anymore.
Hello all,
recently diagnosed with IC, but living with symptoms for many years.
Tried bladder Control and found it to give me 25-50% more time between having to go. It may be all in my head, but when I don't take it, I;m going twice as often.
I did go out and buy the Bladder Q baised on this website, but am going to wait for a while and see how my MD's prescription does.

Several of the over the counter pills contain quercetin, which is a pain medication. I would definitely take the bottle to a doctor's appointment and ask about it if you are taking other medications. Your pharmacist might also be able to tell you if there is anything you are taking that might interact with the quercetin.
Many medical facilities have questionnaires for new patients that include a question about herbal medications or food supplements being taken --- it can be important.

BladderQ is one of the over the counter therapies that really bugged me because they cited the research for CystaQ to sell their own product. As far as I know, they've published no research that shows that their product is helpful, whereas CystaQ has done numerous studies. So, in my opinion, I think that CystaQ is a better, more well studied option. Both contain quercetin, papain, bromelain, etc.

I don't know much about the medicine but i do think anytime you add medicine to your diet you need to talk to your doctor first about it to be the safe side.
some medicine mixed together can be dangerous even if its a herb.
sending you hugs and prayers
