Hello,
I am very frustrated, because I have condition that noone seems to be able to help me with.
4 years ago I had a bacterial cystitis which was left untreated for about a month, until antibiotics finally got rid of it. since then I had repeated infections, which finally stopped. SInce then, I have frequently pain in my bladder region, which feels a bit like a burning and which is similar to the feeling of having to wee, but not quite the same. I am not sure whether this is IC, because I do not have to urinate any more frequenly then normal and I never have to get up during the night. Also, I had a cystoscopy, and nothing could be found.
THis pain I have is there almost constantly, sometimes more sometimes less, but I had also months with no symptoms at all. and I have noticed that sex triggers it, as well as thinking about it too much - the more I focus on it, the worse it gets. The doctor says it might be more a psychological issue, but he never mentioned IC. Do you think this could be IC?
I am so depressed, please help me!
THank you for your help!

Hello there and welcome!:welcome:

I'm sorry you have to be here, but we all know what you are going through.

I do not have urgency/freq and I don't get up at night to pee either, but I do believe I have a mild case of IC.

I am in the process of getting test done to determine what is causing my symptoms.

Have you tried the IC diet yet to see if that helps your symptoms at all?

I figured I would start by giving you a welcome. Of course, I do realize you have not been properly diagnosedasof now. That can be frustrating. Yep! I can't say whether or not you do have IC, but I would figure it is a possiblity. By the way, I can stay asleep with IC causing me to wake up sometimes. Ok. We are all different in ages, gender, symptoms, and medications. In fact, I don't even have pain, but I was told severeIC. Also, many do have painful intercourse as well.(or no intercourse because of the pain) There are other conditions that could do what you have described. Regardless, you have heard of IC by now. I'd go back to another urologist if I was in your shoes right now. Some people have had every symptom and still got told the bladder looked ok. (or maybe at first) Some others should chime in for you.
