I'm pretty sure that Walmart does carry some organic fruits and veggies, I know the one by me does. Certain grocery stores seem to carry a larger variety than others, where I live, Harris Teeter has the largest selection of organic.

Don't forget about the farmers' market when its open. They often have organic and the prices are much better than the retail stores, supports local farmers too :D

I buy my fruits and vegetables in the regular part of the grocery store without any problems.

I buy fruits and vegetables in our regular grocery store. I can't afford to buy from the organic section and so far haven't had any problems.

I have another health problem besides IC so I should be eating all organic, but I can't afford it. I try to buy my vegetables organic, milk, and eggs organic. With the meat I try to buy meat that doesn't have added hormones in it. There are a few other things I can easily get organic that aren't any more expensive, but the rest is regular food.

I guess it depends on your own body and your own personal health issues. Unfortunately organic is so expensive. It is nice that in some places in the country some products are available that are organic. I'm fortunate because I can do most of my shopping at my regular store and occasionally go to a specialty store where I go broke and stock up on some items.

I always get organic milk. I find the regular milk has a funny taste to me now that I've gotten used to the organic.

I only buy organic fruit when I go to Trader Joe's. But I often go to Safeway and buy regular produce and don't have an issue with it.

I doesn't matter IC wise if you buy organic fruit and vegetable or not. I choose to buy organic because I want to cut down on pesticides(personal choice). If you want to limit your pesticide intake you can just google "dirty dozen" it will list the fruit and vegetables you should buy organic and those that don't really matter based on pesticide content. Best of luck!

Actually organic still uses pesticides which are considered "natural" because they are plant based. Chemical structure does not change whether it be plant made or man made; they are 100% the same. Some common insecticides used in organic farming are: Bt (a bacterial toxin), pyrethrum, rotenone, nicotine sulfate, neem, spinosad, soaps, garlic, citrus oil, capsaicin (repellent), Bacillus popillae, Beauvaria bassiana, and boric acid.

All I am saying is that organic foods are just as likely to have "pesticides" that could cause flare ups just as much as non-organic farming does. Furthermore, large companies produce most of the organic produce and also sell non-organic foods right next to those. Either way they make loads of money.

My advice to sufferers of IC out that there on a budget is to try stores like Sprouts or Sunflower and to wash all your produce regardless. Sprouts in particular has high quality produce at low prices. I found that Wal-Mart has different quality produce in the "rich" neighborhoods vs. "poorer" neighborhoods.

Sorry for the rant, but this is just based off of my personal experience as a poor college student with IC and PCOS. I hope no one takes this as inflammatory, because that was not my intent.
