Prosed-DS Question

Hi all,

I see posts on hear about Prosed but my uro gave me Prosed-DS. Is this the same thing???

If Prosed-DS is not the same as Prosed, than what is the difference?

Does Prosed-DS help with frequency as well as burning? MY doctor gave it to me for burning but I was wondering if it will help with my frequency also?

also, did anyone get side effects from the meds? i get terrified of trying new meds due to side effects. i actually refuse to read the side effects on this one because in my head i will create them all, this is a hard thing for me to get over and probably crazy. my uro says that all her patients that are on it tolerate it really well and that it is one of her favorite meds.

I believe they are both very similar medications. I've used Prosed-DS and it worked very well. The only side effect was blue/green pee and poo. It kind of worked a miracle for me before I was diagnosed. Give it a shot!

I sometimes refer to it as Prosed - but what I really have is Prosed DS. I've never seen Prosed by itself without the DS - so I have no idea the difference. The Prosed DS works well when I'm in an IC flare.

For me it works for burning and frequency most the time but doesn't do much for bladder pain. It never takes away all the pain but can be a lifesaver when you have really bad sudden urethral burning, in my experience. Sometimes it doesn't do a thing, not sure why, but I am still glad I can take it. Other than the blue, I haven't noticed side effects other than maybe some dizziness. Pyridium side effects were so bad for me I couldn't even take it.

I get pain, so would Prosed/DS help. Prelief usually takes care of the frequency.
